2001: First RubinSabot
Sabot constructions imply that the diameter of the slug is smaller than the muzzle. A 28,4 gram projectile has a 16 millimeter diameter corresponding to a caliber 20. Thus, the bullet should be called a 12/20/70. Only when jacketing it with a synthetic carcass the actual diameter in caliber 12 (18,5 mm) is reached.
2012: Better Loads
The high velocity (+13 % at 50 m in comparison to CAMOU) and very high energy (+25 % at 50 m in comparison to CAMOU) deliver excellent precision results of 4 cm group with 5 shots at 50 m.
Calibers 12/70 and 12/76 are suitable for all types of hunting up to 80 m – provided shooting shotgun or combination gun with a rifle scope.
Ingenious Functionality
Specially tailored to the needs of European hunters, it combines the advantages of a classic slug in 20 ga with the benefits of a sabot. Leaving the unruffled muzzle, the aerodynamic drag opens the RubinSabot's carcass; it drops after approx. 15 meters. The bullet, however, continues to fly straight to the target.
All BRENNEKE sabots come with 12 characteristic angular ribs to avoid a spin and ensure smooth choke passage. Due to the golden coloured rear and the reddish carcass, our new BRENNEKE models with optimized load can be identified at first sight.
